The 30oz stainless tumbler is the Stanley-era mainstream. It is what buyers picture when they think travel tumbler. It holds a proper amount of liquid, fits most car cup holders with a slight squeeze, and photographs well on Etsy and Instagram. Since 2023 it has steadily overtaken the 20oz as the most-requested custom tumbler size in craft shops that sell to adults.
Pricing a 30oz is where a lot of sellers drift. The blank costs about a dollar more than a 20oz, the press time is slightly longer, but sellers tend to price it only two or three dollars higher. That is a margin mistake. A 30oz deserves at least a $6 to $10 retail premium over the same design on a 20oz because of the Stanley halo effect and the material cost gap.
This page walks through the inputs and embeds a calculator pre-filled with typical 30oz numbers. Override with your actual supplier pricing and press time to get a real price for your shop.

What a 30oz tumbler actually costs to produce
Blank cost is the largest single line. Bulk pricing from Heat Transfer Warehouse, Conde Systems, and Sunrise Sublimation lands between $5.25 and $7.50 per unit on a case of 24. Single-unit pricing often crosses $8. The 30oz has more stainless in it, plus a larger handle on most models, which drives cost up over the 20oz.
Ink usage scales with wrap area. A full 30oz wrap uses roughly 40% coverage versus the 20oz 30%, so expect $1.00 to $1.10 per tumbler in ink on a Sawgrass SG500 at 300 prints per set. Paper cost matches the 20oz since both use standard 8.5x11 sheets. Other materials (shrink wrap, heat tape) are the same $0.20 to $0.25.
Active labor runs 4 minutes prep (larger wrap, more tape), 9 to 10 minutes in the press (longer cycle for a deeper cup), and 2 to 3 to pack (more bubble wrap because larger tumblers crack more in transit). Total 14 to 16 active minutes on a single. Batched in a convection oven, 11 to 13 per unit.
Full per-unit cost breakdown
Materials $7.35 (blank $6.00, paper $0.25, ink $0.90, other $0.20). Labor $5.83 on a 14-minute average at $25/hr. Overhead $0.55 (electric plus per-unit wear). Total per-unit cost around $13.73.
At a 55% margin retail lands at $21.28. Most 30oz Etsy listings live at $28 to $36 which lets you hold net margin above 20% after fees. Glitter and epoxy 30oz tumblers run $38 to $55 retail at 70% to 80% margin. Craft-fair pricing typically runs $4 to $7 below Etsy because fees and shipping are off the table.
Worked example: pricing a 30oz for Etsy
Bulk blank at $6.00, full wrap design uses 40% coverage ink ($0.95 on SG500). Paper $0.25. Other materials $0.20. Materials total $7.40. 4 minutes prep, 9 press, 3 pack = 16 minutes active. At $25/hr that is $6.67 of labor. Overhead $0.60. Total cost $14.67 per tumbler.
At 55% margin, recommended retail $22.74. List at $28 to $30 on Etsy to cover fees plus shipping subsidy and hold net margin. Net after Etsy takes 11% on $35 gross and $7 USPS label is roughly $6.50, or 19% net. Tight but workable for 30oz plain. Add glitter or epoxy and move to 70% margin to get above 25% net.
For a bridal or corporate gift 30oz with custom full-wrap design, bump retail to $38 and the math clears $11.50 net after fees. That is where 30oz premium sits.
Where to buy 30oz tumbler blanks
Heat Transfer Warehouse and Conde Systems carry the 30oz straight-wall stainless in case-of-24 or case-of-36 quantities. HTW runs slightly more per unit but ships faster. Conde tends to have tighter color consistency on the coating. Sunrise Sublimation and APBlanks both sell at volume discounts if you place orders of 72+ at a time.
Off-brand 30oz blanks on Amazon and Alibaba run $4 to $5 per unit but the coating consistency is a known risk. Run a batch-test before committing. The extra $2 per unit for a named supplier usually saves more in scrap than it costs.
