About Crafter Margin

Our story

Crafter Margin started in a cluttered basement studio in early 2024, about six months after Maya priced her first batch of 20oz tumblers at $15 each and realized, two months in, that every glitter-HTV sale was losing her money. She spent a weekend rebuilding her pricing spreadsheet from scratch, then ran the same math for her friends. Everyone was undercharging. Most by a lot.

Every calculator on this site started life as that spreadsheet. We wrote it down, then built it. The goal is simple: if you sell tumblers, shirts, decals, or stickers, you should be able to find out in under a minute whether you are actually making money. No signup, no email wall, no guessing.

What we believe

• Price your labor honestly. Your time is an input cost, not a rounding error.
• Show the math. Every calculator has an expandable breakdown.
• No email walls for free tools. The number should load before anything else loads.
• Cite real sources. Etsy fees come from Etsy, not a competitor blog.
• Review numbers quarterly. Fees, rates, and averages change; our calculators track that.
• Say what we tried and what we did not. No review cosplay.
• Ads over subscriptions. If it stays free, it stays useful for beginners.

What we do not do

• No sponsored picks disguised as recommendations.
• No scraped or AI-autogenerated content with a fake byline.
• No paid placement in rankings.
• No selling of your inputs or your data.
