Resin artists have tight margins that new sellers systematically get wrong. Epoxy is surprisingly expensive per ml, molds amortize unevenly, and cure time ties up cash flow. The tools here handle the honest math so you price for the art markets, Etsy, and Faire without accidentally paying customers to take your work.

The four things resin sellers systematically undercost
Epoxy volume vs bottle cost
ArtResin at $65 per gallon is $0.018 per ml. A 4-coaster set needs roughly 300ml of resin (75ml per coaster at 4mm pour depth). That is $5.40 of resin alone before pigment, inclusions, or labor. Shops that think of epoxy as "cheap" miss the real per-unit cost completely.
Mold amortization per unit
A $22 silicone mold lasts 40-80 pours depending on care. At 60 uses that is $0.37 per piece. For complex geode or ocean-art molds that cost $60-$120, amortization runs $1.50-$3 per piece. Pricier molds get skipped in costing spreadsheets and silently eat margin.
Cure time is labor too
You are not actively working during 24-hour cure, but you are blocking a workspace, a dust-free area, and often a warming pad. Factor a portion of your overhead (utilities, rent, heater cost during cold cure) into the per-piece cost. Budget $0.15-$0.40 per piece for this hidden overhead.
Finishing labor is the biggest line
Sanding edges, buffing drip marks, painting or finishing sides, attaching cork feet or hardware: 5-12 minutes per piece depending on complexity. At $25/hr that is $2-$5 of finishing labor per unit, which is larger than any single material line. Most shops forget this or roll it into "assembly."
